Trigger Point Therapy Trigger point therapy is effective in breaking myofascial pain syndromes associated with soft tissue
damage of the muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Trigger point therapy breaks up muscle knots and adhesions, increases blood flow to the damaged area. relieves muscle spasm and promotes proper healing.
Light Therapy
Light therapy is therapeutic modality that is FDA approved in the United States. It has been proven effective in the treatment of a number of soft-tissue, pain, and inflammatory conditions.
Ultrasound Therapy
Ultrasound therapy is a deep micromassage that can exert a localized thermal action. Ultrasound therapy
decreases swelling, pumps out the fluids, decreases spasms of the muscles, increases local blood supply, produces a localized analgesia which decreases pain
Moist Heat Therapy
Moist heat relaxes tight muscles in addition to producing a general sedation with local analgesia. There is
also an increase in blood flow and metabolic rates which enhances local nutrition to tissues which, in turn, speeds the healing process Cold Therapy
Cold Therapy helps relieve pain and reduce accompanying muscle spasm. Cold therapy decreases blood
flow to areas of acute inflammation and inhibits bleeding after trauma. Cold therapy is also useful in decreasing the swelling of sprains and strains.
Galvanic Therapy
The therapeutic goals of galvanic treatment include: an analgesic effect causing reduction of pain, decrease in muscle hypertonicity (muscle spasm), pumping fluids to help reduce edema (swelling) and
re-education which can help increase joint range of motion.
Mechanotherapy: (Thumper/Panabrator)
Gentle Vibratory or percussive energy is applied to the body to stimulate proprioceptive function, increase blood and lymphatic flow, sedate nervous tension reduce muscle spasm, and break local tissue
adhesions.
Cervical & Lumbar Traction Traction is a form of mechanotherapy that is useful to stretch tissue adhesions and relieve compression of articulating surfaces.
It can also be used as an immobilization technique to help reduce muscle spasm.
Carpal Tunnel Traction
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is treated with a a use of a carpel tunnel machine which relieves pressure
on the wrist thereby relieving the pain and tingling associated with CTS. Used in conjunction with wrist
mobilzation and physical therapy, this new system has proven to be a cost effective way to treat CTS. It also may allow our patients to avoid costly surgery.
The Ancient Art of Acupuncture
Acupuncture is the 5,000 year old Chinese system of natural healing often used on conjunction with
chiropractic treatments. It is used to restore the body's natural energy force which, when interrupted, can lead to illness and pain.
