DR. CATES

Dr. Cates has been working with the patients and staff at Holland Chiropractic and Rehab since 2001. She first became interested in chiropractic care when she injured her back while playing softball at Downers Grove South High School. Her injury was successfully treated with chiropractic care. 

Dr. Cates graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology. She continued her education at the National University of Health Sciences, becoming a chiropractor in 2004.

Having been a patient, intern, and now chiropractor, Dr. Cates has been a part of all aspects of chiropractic care. She understands what it takes to make your chiropractic experience a helpful and comfortable one.

Dr. Cates has a special interest in sports injuries and focuses much of her continuing education in this area.  She is a Certified Kinesio Tape Practitioner and holds two certifications in acupuncture and meridian therapy.  In 2008, she completed over 100 hours of additional coursework in the field of sports medicine and is now a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (certified by the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians).

In the Fall of 2009, Dr. Cates was invited by the United States Olympic Committe to help treat athletes at an Olympic Training Center. Dr. Cates spent two weeks at the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, NY.  During her rotation, she was able to
treat Olympic athletes for sports-related injuries and provide treatement pre- and post- training.

While she has a love for all sports and athletic endeavors, Dr. Cates has a particular interest in softball, baseball and college basketball. In her free time, she enjoys
staying active, traveling, cooking and spending time with her family and friends.
